Kanye West Signs D'Banj to G.O.O.D. Music

American rapper, singer, and record producer, Kanye West has today finalized his interest to sign one of Nigeria’s biggest hip-hop artiste, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’Banj to his Good Music Entertainment, a production, management and record label outfit. “GOOD” is an acronym for “Getting Out Our Dreams”.

Speaking to D’Banj’s manager, Sunday Are of List Entertainment, he confirmed that there have been talks recently but D’Banj officially signed the contract today. “Yes there have been discussions between the two parties lately. They have been exchanging contracts but now the wait is over, he said. It so happened that Kanye West & D’Banj birthday (a day apart) is today! So i guess this was planned.

Sources also revealed that Kanye is interested in working with Don Jazzy. We heard he wants him to produce a song on the collaboration album he is working on with Jay Z.

John Legend and Common were the first to sign to the management and production company. Their albums “Get Lifted and Be” (both executive-produced by West) were both critically acclaimed and combined were nominated for 7 Grammy Award nominations. “Get Lifted” had three nominations and “Be” had four.

Don Jazzy the conductor!!!!!

Living in the hood like Ajegunle doesn't mean You can't make it in life, So is the story of one of Nigeria's heavyweight music producer, Don Jazzy. He was born without a silver spoon.

He grew up in Ajegunle ( popularly called AJ City) worshiping at Cherubim and Seraphim church. After secondary school, he went on to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo State, but dropped out as a result of financial difficulties. Don Jazzy had to sell bean cake (akara) for his mom in Ajegunle and had to become a bus conductor to feed his family.

The now most sought after producer never left Nigeria for London for pursue an education. An uncle of his asked him to come play instrumentals for a church in London and after spending sometime in London, he never thought of returning to Nigeria until D Banj persuaded him to, and the rest is history. The soft spoken producer sits as the President of one of Nigeria's most promising and fledgling record label, Mo Hits Records, which has produced such stars like D Banj, Wande Coal, and lots more.
