P.M.NEWS learnt that the school authorities recently dicovered the dingy corner where male and female students usually had sex during school hours.

.Some students of the Junior Secondary school arm of the school narrated how some of their colleagues were rounded up about two weeks ago by the school authorities at a dingy corner within the school premises where male and female students of the school normally had illicit sex and fun during school hours.

There were mattresses and toiletries at the joint which has now been dismantled.

It was also discovered that a group of female students in the school had patronised witch doctors, who are known in local parlance as babalawo.

In the course of their confession during interrogation, the youngsters said that they patronised the witch doctors to curry the favour of fellow students and teachers and to ensure that they went scot-free each time they committed an offence.

The shocked school management invited the parents of the offending students. And most of them expressed surprise at the action of their children and wards, according to sources close to the meeting.

Two of the parents even burst into tears on learning that their children were involved in such immoral and fetish acts.

The witch doctor who allegedly charged each of the students about 2,000 naira for the potions he made for them, was said to have fled Ikorodu. All efforts to locate him have so far proved abortive.

The authorities of Oriwu College ,which has produced prominent Nigerians, are said to have forwarded their recommendations on the offending students to the Ministry of Education, in Alausa.

Meanwhile,teachers and workers in Oriwu College were said to have become extra vigilant to prevent a similar occurrence in the school.

Woman kills her bros over piece of meat

A 24-year-old woman was arrested by the police on Tuesday for allegedly killing her 8-year-old brother over a piece of meat.

The suspect, Janet James, from Akwa-Ibom State, allegedly killed her brother, Saviour, with a spatula at their residence on Adedeji Street, Ilupeju.

She allegedly dumped the boy's body at the premises of TIME Insurance Company, which is not far from her house.

The body was discovered by security personnel at the company who then reported to the police.

Police spokesperson Frank Mba said, "When the police got to the Insurance Company, they found the body of the boy in a bush by the fence of the company. The face of the kid was facing down and when they turned him over, they saw that he was the same boy they had at one time rescued from the suspect.

Police reports revealed that Miss James, a house help to an Indian couple, had in the past beaten the victim to a state of coma over allegation of theft.

"The suspect had in the past beaten the boy so badly that people in the area had to report her to the police. She was arrested and after a while the police asked her to write an undertaking that she will take the boy back to the village.

She was even given some money to travel with the boy but she went ahead to hide him in her room. Every time police officers go back to check on her, she lied that she had taken him back to the village," Mr. Mba said.

Mr. Mba said when the police saw the victim's body, they had a reason to suspect Miss James.

"When the police got to her house, she was seen nonchalantly preparing food. The officers asked after the boy and she said she took him to the church for prayers, the police took her to the station and she confessed to killing her brother."

Narrating the incident, the suspect said, "I brought my brother from the village; he is actually my step brother, because my mother said he steals a lot and I should handle him. But when he continued stealing despite my warning, I started beating him so he will change. That day, on Monday, he stole a piece of meat and I beat him very well with a stick I use to make eba.

"He became sick and in the night I felt his body was getting cold and saliva was coming out of his mouth; I became scared. By 5am the next day I thought he had died and I used a wrapper and tied him to my back. I went to the insurance company and threw his body over the fence into the bush. I feel really bad and when I came home I cried because I did not mean to kill him"

Mr. Mba said "This is a classical case of unprovoked homicide; the case has been transferred to the state Homicide Department for thorough investigation."

Man loses £130,000 in online scam

A 32-year-old man has lost more than £130,000 in an internet scam involving Nigerian fraudsters.

Police said the victim, from Portsmouth, was befriended online by a man posing as a woman in 2007.

He was asked for money to help the "woman's" dying mother and believed he also funded the funeral.

He then got emails from people posing as FBI agents investigating the scam, who duped him into funding trips to Nigeria so they could investigate.

The money cannot be recovered due to the current political situation in Nigeria

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: "It eventually transpired that the woman was in fact a Nigerian man who had been lying to obtain money from the man in Portsmouth."

The spokeswoman said the victim later received further emails from someone else purporting to be another victim of the fraud as well as men who claimed to be FBI agents.

"The agents said they would take on the Portsmouth man's case if he would fund their trip to Nigeria and any subsequent costs they incurred, which the man agreed to," she said.

"This went on for many months before it again transpired that the emails were fraudulent, and in fact another attempt to obtain money from the man.

"The money cannot be recovered due to the current political situation in Nigeria, resulting in a lack of co-operation from the police in the country."

Det Con Jon Knox said: "This is a very sad situation, and this man has now parted with a huge sums of money through his own good nature - in trying to help others and then to recover some of what he had lost.

"We do not want anyone else to fall foul of this kind of shocking activity and I would warn anyone who is asked for money over the internet by people they do not know to refuse and not put yourself at risk."
