A herbalist, arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly being in possession of human skulls, has told how he used them to cure HIV/AIDS. Lamidi Alabi, was arrested by policemen from Layeni police station for allegedly being in possession of two human skulls.
Also in the police net over the same alleged offence was a grave digger at the Trinity cemetery, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, Akanji Afolabi, 36. He was said to have tried to sell two skulls to a herbalists at the rate of N6,000, before he was nabbed.
A woman, who saw the human skulls in a polythene bag was said to have raised alarm, which led to Afolabi’s arrest. When he (Afolabi) was being tortured, he confessed that it was his master (Alabi), who sent him to buy the skulls.
Following his confession, police compelled him to lead them to where Alabi was arrested. He also led the detectives to arrest another grave digger, Moshood Adebisi. Afolabi had told the detectives interrogating him that Alabi needed the skulls to prepare concoction for the cure of various diseases. He also claimed that he used the skulls to cure HIV/AIDS, fibroid and deliver pregnant women of babies, especially, those that had complications and risked having their babies through ceaserian operation.
“We give them our concoction and they deliver babies with ease. I have never bought human skull before, but I usually went to the cemetery each time they were digging graves, to collect human bones. I grind the bones together with local chalk, skin of tiger, black soap, osun and mixed them with local gin. “Pregnant women drink it for safe and easy delivery. I use human skull with other herbs to cure HIV/AIDS. For cure of fibroid, we use the black soap, bits of human skull, ege, a special thorny yam, emu opiri, bala, lime, among others,” Afolabi said.
On how he was arrested, Afolabi revealed how he hired the services of a motorcyclist at Trinity bus-stop and permitted a strange woman to join him on the bike. And on their way, the woman inquired what he was carrying in the bag but he refused to tell her. “When I didn’t yield to her request, she raised alarm and the motorcyclist stopped and members of a vigilance group arrested me. The woman vanished,” he said.
Adebisis, who claimed to be a bricklayer said it was his first time of selling human parts. “It is a disgrace that I sell human parts. Though, the skulls are not fresh ones,” he said. Alabi, however, has denied any knowledge of the human parts business. The suspect, from Oyo State, said he only used of herbs to cure people of their ailments.
He said: “I’m a native doctor and Afolabi is also a native doctor. I only use herbs to cure diseases. He lied against me. I did not send him on such an errand.”

A drug suspect said he and his colleagues did the country great service by favouring the drug trade instead of involving themselves in such deadlier pursuits as armed robbery and assassinations.
Ajayi Ghana, who was paraded in front of journalists Monday afternoon, blamed the prevalent economic hardship in the country for his involvement in the drug trade.
Twenty-year-old Paul Oluwatosin who was paraded with Mr Gana told newsmen that he was a scrap metal dealer who resorted to trading in hard drugs because it pays better. Another suspect, Akinwale Olalekan, blamed his involvement on the death of his parents who passed away when he was young. Five cannabis dealers were similarly paraded by officials of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ado Ekiti.
The State Commander of the agency, Bamidele Akingbade, said 73 suspects have been arrested since he assumed office in May, 2010 and that the Agency has discovered about 76 acres of land used as cannabis plantation. He said about thirteen drug abusers were arrested at Atikankan Area as well as at Motor-parks and other dangerous spots in Ado Ekiti, and those found culpable will soon be prosecuted .
He said his Agency is now partnering with the Police, Civil Defence Corps and Forest Guards to control the activities of those engaged in farming cannabis.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Samson Siasia meeting ended in a stalemate Wednesday night as they could not finalize what the take home pay of the new manager the Super Eagles will be.
Daily Sunsport can report exclusively that after they agreed to offer Siasia a four-year deal that would culminate in his taking the Super Eagles to the Africa Nations Cup and World Cup, talks broke down when the national Under-23 team’s former coach tabled his financial demands to the executive committee of the NFF.
An impeccable source close to the NFF disclosed that Siasia asked to be paid N15 million monthly and One million USD as sign on fees aside an official quarters and an official car.
The NFF told him that his demand was too much and far out of what they could afford, explaining to him that the foreign coaches who were employed in the last three years were paid by GLO and PTF.
“We told him that that he had to reduce his demands drastically if he really wanted to coach the Super Eagles as the NFF cannot afford such huge amount. He refused to shift ground and we had to excuse him to leave since he was travelling with Heartland FC of Owerri for an African Champions league match in Egypt.
“In principle, we have agreed to give him the job but we shall continue the negotiation on his salary and sign on fee when he comes back from Egypt. I must also tell you that he impressed us at the discussion and we believe he would deliver, if he agrees to tour terms” our source said.
NFF Vice President, Obinna Ogba, told an Abuja radio station after the meeting last Wednesday that a three-man committee had been set up to meet with Siasia to finalize the negotiation with him when he returns and gets back to the board.

"I heard 9ice is in the studio recording a song to diss me but I don't want to believe it. As far as I am concerned, I will fold my hands until he does but if he dares it, then I will be forced to go into the studio and record a song taking him down memory lane and then people will hear what they never expected. For now I have no issues with him but I can't reconcile with him when he does the wrong thing. I can only reconcile if he comes and apologizes." Ruggedman tells City People Magazine.
