‘Why I killed my gay lover'- Rafael Ikechukwu
Twenty-one-year old Rafael Ikechukwu, on Thursday, said he did not regret killing his Spanish gay lover.
Mr Ikechukwu is being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for allegedly slashing the throat of a middle aged Spanish man, Gafaru Anthony, who was in the country on the invitation of Mr Ikechukwu. Both men have been lovers for more than two years before the incident occurred on April 16. The relationship turned sour that day when the lovers had a fight at the Goti Gate Hotel at FESTAC town where they had planned to lodge for one week.
A quarrel reportedly ensued between the lovers after they retired to their room. Mr Ikechukwu allegedly overpowered Mr Anthony during the fight and slashed his throat with a broken bottle. Police officers from the Homicide Department at Panti, Yaba, were invited to the scene, and they arrested Mr Ikechukwu. The body of Mr Anthony was taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
Mr Ikechukwu, however, said he will kill Mr Anthony again if he resurrects. He said the Spaniard had exposed him to HIV, drugged, and raped him. "I met Gafaru in Ghana and we have been friends for more than two years," he said. "He came to Nigeria on the day of the presidential election. He said he wanted to come and carry out a research but it was a lie. We went out and visited places. He told me that his lover in Spain had contracted HIV and he is scared. I told him to go and do the HIV screening to be sure and he said he will do it when he gets back to Spain.
But on that night, while I was sleeping on the same bed with him, I did not know that he had drugged me. And after drugging me, he forced himself on me and slept with me. When I woke up in the morning and discovered what he had done to me, I became angry and confronted him, but he was taking the issue with levity. That was how we started quarrelling, he was the one who took a bottle and broke it on the wall. He wanted to stab me with it but I dodged him and broke my own bottle and stabbed him in the neck, so that was how he bled to death. I did not intend to kill him. I did it in self defence and I don't regret my action, because he would have killed me if he had the chance."
The police spokesman, Samuel Jinadu, advised residents to seek peaceful dispute resolution methods instead of resolving to violence and killing. "The case is being investigated by detectives from the Homicide Department at Panti, Yaba," he said. "The suspect will be charged to court as soon as we are through with our investigation."
Efforts to get the reaction of the Spanish Consulate in Lagos were not successful as phone calls and emails were not replied as at press time.

Woman gives birth to snake in Abia

It sure sounds unbelievable, but a young woman has been delivered of a snake in Umuahia. The woman delivered the scary reptile on Wednesday following hours of intense prayers at the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, along Eze Ogbulafor Street, Umuahia, Abia State.
Chairman of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) in Abia state, Apostle Emmanuel Agomoh, who is also the head of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim in the state said a priest, Apostle Uche Ugwu had engaged himself in hours of prayers to cause the delivery of the snake from the private part of the 35-year-old lady whose names are being withheld.
The snake, said to have been programmed into the woman’s womb since her secondary school days, was headless and tailless.
The incident, which has become the talk of the town, happened around 5p.m. on Wednesday at the church premises.
The young lady hails from Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA.She was said to have delivered the snake like a woman under labour following prayers by the priest that everything that was not of God in her should come out of her body. The incident attracted a large crowd. Apostle Agomoh said the snake forced itself out of the woman’s private part with the intention of attacking Apostle Ugwu. The cleric’s younger brother, however, was able to kill the animal.
The cleric said the woman came to the church on Monday for prayers following the pains she had been experiencing all over her body since she was in secondary school. According to him, it was at this juncture that one of the prayer warriors in the church Apostle Ugwu conducted the prayers that forced the snake out of her body.
“As I was praying and calling on whatever was inside the lady to come out, the lady was writhing in pains. The snake even wanted to attack me until my brother here killed it with the stick,” Ugwu told our reporter.
He said such miracles happen very often in the church. “But we don’t advertise it and we don’t use any fetish things here. We only engage in prayers,” he said.

INSANITY: Pastor Rapes Job Seeker During Vigil

It was a shock among residents of Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State, when news filtered into the town that a pastor raped a girl on the church altar during a vigil. But what looked like a fairy tale earlier turned out to be real, going by the victim’s revelations.
The suspect, Olabode Sunday, 31, allegedly invited Funke, 25, (other names withheld), who had just concluded the National youth’s service, for prayers to pave the way for her land a white collar job. Midway into the vigil, there was a heavy rainfall, which made the weather very cold.
It was at that point that the temptation to convert the vigil to love meeting crept in. The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), pastor was alleged to have succumbed to nature, as he started making love overtures to the girl he was supposed to take her case of joblessness to God. He allegedly raped the hapless girl.
Sunday, who was remorseful, blamed the incident on the devil. He narrated how the victim attended a vigil, where he prayed for her, but saw the need for another round of vigil, which according to him, was scheduled for August 14.
“Funke came to my house at about 7.00 pm on August 14 and we later moved into the church behind the prayer ground. We started the prayer at about 12 midnight. Suddenly, there was downpour, followed by thunderstorm. So, we later moved into the church as the key was in my possession. We continued the prayer. At about 3.00 am, I hugged her and later I lost control of myself. One thing led to the other. That was how I had carnal knowledge of her,” he confessed.
He disclosed that after having sex with her, he encouraged and assured her that God would still provide job for her. “So, both of us left the church at about 5.00 am,” he said. The victim, who also spoke to Daily Sun narrated how the suspect had been praying for members of the family for years. According to her, that was what motivated her to request him to pray for her to secure a job. “He forced himself on me and had sex with me on the altar. He later begged me to forgive him, claiming it was the handiwork of the devil.
The following morning, I reported the matter at ‘F’ police Division in Tanke,” she said. A member of the church, Kunle Alade, who spoke to Daily Sun on the matter, described it as unfortunate. According to him, the suspect has dented the image of the church. He also wondered why he chose the altar for such an unholy act. He fumed: “This is a shameful act.”
Confirming the incident, the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Murkta said the suspect was arrested for forcefully having carnal knowledge of the victim. He disclosed that the victim was taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed that she was raped.

I use human skulls to cure HIV/AIDS ---- Herbalist

A herbalist, arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly being in possession of human skulls, has told how he used them to cure HIV/AIDS. Lamidi Alabi, was arrested by policemen from Layeni police station for allegedly being in possession of two human skulls.
Also in the police net over the same alleged offence was a grave digger at the Trinity cemetery, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, Akanji Afolabi, 36. He was said to have tried to sell two skulls to a herbalists at the rate of N6,000, before he was nabbed.
A woman, who saw the human skulls in a polythene bag was said to have raised alarm, which led to Afolabi’s arrest. When he (Afolabi) was being tortured, he confessed that it was his master (Alabi), who sent him to buy the skulls.
Following his confession, police compelled him to lead them to where Alabi was arrested. He also led the detectives to arrest another grave digger, Moshood Adebisi. Afolabi had told the detectives interrogating him that Alabi needed the skulls to prepare concoction for the cure of various diseases. He also claimed that he used the skulls to cure HIV/AIDS, fibroid and deliver pregnant women of babies, especially, those that had complications and risked having their babies through ceaserian operation.
“We give them our concoction and they deliver babies with ease. I have never bought human skull before, but I usually went to the cemetery each time they were digging graves, to collect human bones. I grind the bones together with local chalk, skin of tiger, black soap, osun and mixed them with local gin. “Pregnant women drink it for safe and easy delivery. I use human skull with other herbs to cure HIV/AIDS. For cure of fibroid, we use the black soap, bits of human skull, ege, a special thorny yam, emu opiri, bala, lime, among others,” Afolabi said.
On how he was arrested, Afolabi revealed how he hired the services of a motorcyclist at Trinity bus-stop and permitted a strange woman to join him on the bike. And on their way, the woman inquired what he was carrying in the bag but he refused to tell her. “When I didn’t yield to her request, she raised alarm and the motorcyclist stopped and members of a vigilance group arrested me. The woman vanished,” he said.
Adebisis, who claimed to be a bricklayer said it was his first time of selling human parts. “It is a disgrace that I sell human parts. Though, the skulls are not fresh ones,” he said. Alabi, however, has denied any knowledge of the human parts business. The suspect, from Oyo State, said he only used of herbs to cure people of their ailments.
He said: “I’m a native doctor and Afolabi is also a native doctor. I only use herbs to cure diseases. He lied against me. I did not send him on such an errand.”

I’m Not An Assassin, I Only Send Threat Messages

It was end of the road for a man, who specialized in sending text messages to people, asking them to pay a ransom into a bank account or be killed. He has been arrested by the police. The suspect, simple identified as Ehi is said to be telling detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti, Yaba, Lagos, how he got involved in the illegal act.
Ehi, who had succeeded in sending many threat messages to people met his waterloo after he sent a text message to the mother of a 400 level undergraduate, threatening to assassinate her son if she failed to pay N100, 000 into a bank account.
Part of the text message reads: “We are members of the new black axe movement, University of Lagos (UNILAG). We are watching the modus operandi of your son. We know all his movements in the school. We will have no option than to eliminate him by 12.00 p.m, before Tuesday.”
The frightened woman contacted some of her friends who advised her to report to the police. She heeded the advice and reported to policemen who advised her to pay the money into an account. It was when the owner of the account came to withdraw some money from his account that he was nabbed by the police.
Speaking with Daily Sun, the 24-year-old suspect said he was not the originator of the text message. “It was composed and sent by my friend, Henry. I told him I needed some money to travel abroad for my studies and he asked me if I knew anyone who could pay some money if we threatened to kill his or her child. So, that was how I gave the woman’s name,” he said.
He said he knew the woman was capable of paying the ransom. He said: “But I wonder why she goofed because she loved her son too much and she has the money. Moreso, I remember when she received similar threat text message last year, she wanted to pay before those threatening her chickened out.”
On the rightful owner of the bank account, he said: “The account belonged to my landlord’s son. I lied to him that my brother was going to send some money to me and that I had no bank account. He innocently assisted me. It was while he went to withdraw some money from the account that policemen arrested him.”
On why he sent the threat message to a woman from his town. He said: “I needed money to travel to Spain for further studies. I had no money for international passport. So, I told my friend, Henry, who told me that if I put fears into the woman, by saying that we were monitoring her son’s movement, she would pay up.
“I have begged the woman and her son to forgive me. I did not mean to assassinate him. I only needed some money. I am sorry, very sorry indeed.” The Police spokesman, Mr. Frank Mba, said the owner of the bank account had been released as he was innocent. He said the suspect did not mean to kill the student but was sending threat text messages to cajole the victims to pay the ransom he was demanding.
He enjoined members of the public to report similar case to the police.
