Kanye West Signs D'Banj to G.O.O.D. Music

American rapper, singer, and record producer, Kanye West has today finalized his interest to sign one of Nigeria’s biggest hip-hop artiste, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’Banj to his Good Music Entertainment, a production, management and record label outfit. “GOOD” is an acronym for “Getting Out Our Dreams”.

Speaking to D’Banj’s manager, Sunday Are of List Entertainment, he confirmed that there have been talks recently but D’Banj officially signed the contract today. “Yes there have been discussions between the two parties lately. They have been exchanging contracts but now the wait is over, he said. It so happened that Kanye West & D’Banj birthday (a day apart) is today! So i guess this was planned.

Sources also revealed that Kanye is interested in working with Don Jazzy. We heard he wants him to produce a song on the collaboration album he is working on with Jay Z.

John Legend and Common were the first to sign to the management and production company. Their albums “Get Lifted and Be” (both executive-produced by West) were both critically acclaimed and combined were nominated for 7 Grammy Award nominations. “Get Lifted” had three nominations and “Be” had four.

Father Impregnates 12yr Old Daughter

A 50-year-old man, who allegedly impregnated his 12-year-old daughter has criticised those who are blaming him for accepting to be the biological father of his daughter’s baby. Philip Ben, a native of Itam in Akwa Ibom State, was unrepentant, as he hit back at the crowd which abused him for committing heresy.

Hear him: “Who among you has not committed any sin, let him cast the first stone. I am a Christian, an usher in my church (names withheld). I know what it means to offend God, by committing abortion. I didn’t want to kill either, the baby or my daughter I love so much.”

When asked if he knew the implication of being the father of his daughter’s child, he retorted: “I know the implication quite alright. It is abomination in my town, Itam, the devil has already put me to shame. I will go home to perform the necessary sacrifices and life goes on. I believe God has forgiven me. “I won’t mess up with her again. I am ashamed of myself, but the devil deceived me.”

On when he started making love to his daughter, he blamed her for his action. “I did not dream of doing such a thing. Please, pray against such temptation, it can happen to any man. I just came back from work that fateful day and was so tired. I came inside the room and met my daughter stark naked. I started admiring her and felt like a man and the devil took over. I did it, but I wasn’t the one that deflower her. She had been doing it before.”

He also countered the claim that the girl was 12 years old. “I am her father, I know when she was born. She is about 15 now. Don’t mind what she was saying. She also claimed I did it with her severally. That is a blatant lie. I only did it four times and that is why I doubt, if I am the real father of the unborn baby. She has other boyfriends.”

According to him, he had parted ways with the girl’s mother and married another woman, who died few months after she was delivered of twins. “This my daughter, who brought disgrace to me was living in the village, before I brought her to take care of the twins. She succeeded in seducing me. She is to be blamed for this disgraceful act.” The man who also blamed loneliness for his immoral behaviour said if his wife was alive, the incident wouldn’t have happened.

However, his daughter (names withheld) has maintained that she was drugged by her father the first time he had canal knowledge of her. “I swear, he gave me something that looked like hot drink. After drinking it, I became weak and slept off, but I knew he was doing something to me. I could not do anything as I was weak.”

She said the following day, her father apologized for his action, but still slept with her. “He begged me for forgiveness, claiming to be having problem of loneliness. It was a neighbour who noticed that I was pregnant. I told her what really happened. I told her that the pregnancy belonged to my father and that he was the one who deflowered me. Since then, I have not made love to any other man apart from him. He did it severally. I can’t remember how many times. It was on daily basis for almost one year now.”

P.M.NEWS learnt that the school authorities recently dicovered the dingy corner where male and female students usually had sex during school hours.

.Some students of the Junior Secondary school arm of the school narrated how some of their colleagues were rounded up about two weeks ago by the school authorities at a dingy corner within the school premises where male and female students of the school normally had illicit sex and fun during school hours.

There were mattresses and toiletries at the joint which has now been dismantled.

It was also discovered that a group of female students in the school had patronised witch doctors, who are known in local parlance as babalawo.

In the course of their confession during interrogation, the youngsters said that they patronised the witch doctors to curry the favour of fellow students and teachers and to ensure that they went scot-free each time they committed an offence.

The shocked school management invited the parents of the offending students. And most of them expressed surprise at the action of their children and wards, according to sources close to the meeting.

Two of the parents even burst into tears on learning that their children were involved in such immoral and fetish acts.

The witch doctor who allegedly charged each of the students about 2,000 naira for the potions he made for them, was said to have fled Ikorodu. All efforts to locate him have so far proved abortive.

The authorities of Oriwu College ,which has produced prominent Nigerians, are said to have forwarded their recommendations on the offending students to the Ministry of Education, in Alausa.

Meanwhile,teachers and workers in Oriwu College were said to have become extra vigilant to prevent a similar occurrence in the school.

Nigerians arrested in UK over 'arrangee' weddings!!!

It was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives. But instead of walking down the aisle with bouquets of flowers in their hands, two brides and their grooms were handcuffed and taken to a police station.

The grooms, whose identities have not been disclosed, are Nigerians, who engaged their Slovakian brides in a desperate bid to live in the United Kingdom (UK).

Their arrests were part of a coordinated operation to curb an international marriage scam. Such bogus marriages allow immigrants to stay in the UK.

If found guilty, the suspects could be sentenced to seven-year jail terms.

A combined team of police and immigration officers raided two homes and arrested the Slovakian brides and Nigerian grooms before they arrived at churches on Tuesday.

According to the Mail Online, four other men from Nigeria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, who are believed to be making up to £15,000 per sham wedding, were also arrested.

It was learnt that six Nigerian men were also being detained on suspected Immigration offences.

The arrests were centred around two gangs in Manchester and Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Immigration officers waited until the Nigerian gang members drove from Manchester to Bradford before their arrests in a fuel station, just hours before the two weddings were to take place.

Detective Sergeant Peter Gallagher, who led the operation, said: “We believe we have cracked an organised conspiracy in which marriage fixers and European brides were making money from Nigerian grooms desperate to find a way to stay in the UK.”

The churches, believed to have been targeted by the gangs are: St Philip and St James in Scholes, South Yorkshire, and St Lukes in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.

UK Border Agency regional director, Jeremy Oppenheim said: “We will not tolerate Immigration abuse and will punish those who break the Immigration laws.

“Over recent years, we have clamped down on sham marriages introducing Certificates of Approval, family permits and encouraged registrars to highlight suspicious cases.

“That’s why suspected sham marriages fell from over 3,500 in 2004 to under 400 in 2008. Under the tougher rules, anyone trying to play the system can expect to face imprisonment for up to seven years.”

The arrest came on the heels of the arraignment of a vicar over alleged conspiracy to aid unlawful entry to the UK by helping to organise more than 180 ‘sham’ weddings for illegal immigrants earlier this month.

Reverend Alex Brown, 60, was arrested in a dawn raid on his rectory home in St Leonards, East Sussex, and his church, St Peters, 200 yards away.

He was accused of holding a ‘conveyor belt’ of services to allow African and Eastern European immigrants from outside the European Union (EU) to marry those with the right to stay in the UK.

When migrants complete bogus marriages, they can remain in Britain and move freely within the EU.

Those with residency rights in the UK, often from other EU countries, are paid up to £2,000 a time to take part in the sham weddings.

Labour toughened marriage laws in February 2005 after the number of suspect ceremonies - often arranged by criminal gangs who could earn £10,000 a time - reached 3,700 per year.

Migrants were made to get a special certificate to marry if they lived outside the EU, or had only limited rights to live in the UK.

Those with only three months’ leave to remain were routinely refused on the grounds that the ceremony was performed just to avoid removal from the country.

The number of sham weddings has since fallen to around 300 a year. But the crackdown was left in tatters after the Law Lords ruled it breaches migrants’ human rights.

According to Law Lords, “forcing a migrant to prove whether a relationship is genuine is arbitrary and unjust,” even if they were getting married only weeks before their permission to stay in Britain ran out.

Segun was in Abuja for a three-day official assignment. As he was unpacking his bag at his hotel, he found two packs of condom hidden in his luggage. He knew he did not put it there. It was the handiwork of his wife who does not want to take chances with the health of her spouse.

There is nothing I can say. Of course I will be happy to find a condom in his pocket, knowing that he is being careful not to impregnate another woman or infect me with diseases. But I rather would advice him to be careful when keeping a relationship outside marriage. This, I understand happens because some men don’t want to make their wives sex machines, so they go out to satisfy their sexual urge from other ladies or women who have the energy and strength to meet their demands. So, I will always advice him to use condom whenever he is hanging out with other ladies. There is no problem finding a condom in his pocket because it makes me safe with him

For me, if peradventure I find condom in my husband’s pocket, I won’t take it up with him violently. No. All I need is some explanations. Yes, explanations on where and how he got it and where he uses it. If his explanation is convincing enough, I might overlook it. But if he sounds incoherent, I would not take it lightly with him. I simply will conclude he is cheating on me and that could infect me with diseases.
I remain with him on the condition that sex will be out of our lives to be on the safe side, condom or no condom.

No man is an exemption to extra-marital affair. It is their nature to cheat on their wives, no matter how beautiful and respectful their wives might be, they still look out. It is only God that could change this nature of theirs.

I trust my husband, so I would not think negatively of him for he cannot cheat on me.
The fact that I found a condom in his pocket does not put it that he is unfaithful to me. It could be that he was given by these health safety awareness officials.

I will not hold issues against him because he must have been given at a seminar or health conference. On the other hand, he might buy it for safety purpose. But if I noticed he was hiding it from me, I would ask him and his response would determine my reaction towards him.

As for me, my husband does not sleep out because I know him that much, but for other women I may not know. If I find condom in his pocket, I will ask him how he came about it before I get annoyed. We shouldn’t be jumping at conclusions. Finding condom in his pocket does not mean there is something fishy, no.
Definitely, I will feel bad in the sense that I will feel perhaps; I was not satisfying him enough. If he tells me I’m not treating him well, I definitely will adjust because no one is perfect.
Nevertheless, there are men that cannot be satisfied with just one woman. These categories of men, I would say, have reasons behind their behavior. Moreover, I will not quarrel with him, but will make him my best friend in order to know his weak points and know how to handle the ugly situation.

Condom is a package used for sexual protection. Some organizations distribute condoms to its staff. It might be given to him in the office or at a seminar. Aside these, should I find a condom in my husband’s pocket, I will feel cheated, though it will not make me get mad at him. As a responsible and learned person, I will ask him first, and if he gives a genuine reason then I’ll for it.

Church sacks Pastor in Kogi

Pastor in charge of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Isanlu, headquarters of Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been booted out of his church, which he served for nine years.

His offences, according to source, were gross misconduct and cumulative offence said to be unbecoming of a man of God as alleged in a memoranda sent to the headquarters of the Baptism churches in Nigeria at Ibadan.

The pastor's offences include alleged lust for money, moral bankruptcy and alleged camping of women and ladies in the pastorium of the church. Others include submission of fake receipts and abnormal high estimate aimed at cheating the church.

In an 11-page petition with several sub-titles sent to the embattled man of God and copied to the Secretary of the Nigerian Baptist Convention at its Secretariat in Ibadan, and signed by four principal officials of the church, the secretary, M. E. Jaiyeoba, gave several other reasons for the sack of the man of God.

The pastor was also accused of turning himself into purchasing officer and price negotiator rather than concentrating on the growth of evangelism in the church.

It would be recalled that over N15 million was raked on the spot during the final burial ceremony and appeal fund launching for projects of the church that were started by the late benefactor of the church, Otunba Lesile Akande, last year.

In a sober atmosphere, Tee Mac spoke in front of a live television audience on Emmanuel TV, testifying that Prophet TB Joshua had told him to warn Michael Jackson of an impending health disaster, and invite him to visit Nigeria for healing.

“The man of God (TB Joshua) called me to his office and said to me, 'Please, tell your friend Marlon to bring Michael here to Nigeria. Michael needs healing; he needs deliverance.' I told the man of God that Michael Jackson just went for a medical check up because he is going to have about 50 concerts soon. But the man of God said to me, 'Send Michael here – he needs healing.' ”

When the tragic news broke, “what immediately came to my mind was that the man of God told me something's going to happen,” Tee Mac reminisced. Clearly remorseful, he lamented that if he had taken the message more seriously and acted with more insistence, “maybe Michael Jackson would still be alive today…”

Utilising the occasion to reflect on life, TB Joshua asked the audience in a heartfelt message: “If today were your last day on earth, what would people remember you for? What would generations yet unborn read about you?' He encouraged the people to live each day as if it were their least, and avoid the burden of unnecessary worry and anxiety. “Let us leave tomorrow's trouble for the One who bore our troubles on the cross,” he remarked.

As well as speaking on major world events, Joshua regularly prophesies to individuals that throng his flourishing church in Lagos, with uncanny accuracy. His recent prophecies include the death of the former South Korean president, the Feb 13 plane crash in New York and the release of Ingrid Betancourt from the Colombian jungle last year.

The optical discs plant which will soon be charged and prosecuted for piracy of copyright protected works had also been raided by the Commission about four years ago and is currently being prosecuted at a Federal High Court in Lagos for piracy of musical works and cinematograph films.

Danfo Drivers Cry Out: “we’re being sidelined!!!”

one of Nigeria’s hot reggae/dance hall act, Danfo Drivers have voiced out their grievances against Awards organizers in Nigeria – Hiphop World Awards and Nigeria Entertainment Awards especially – who somehow have failed to recognize the achievements of the ragga duo.

Questioning the criteria in which judges select their nominees for their awards, the duo argue that their achievement was noteworthy both home and abroad and as such they deserved at least one nomination.

“Who among the entire nominee’s apart from Dbanj, Tuface, 9ice and Psquare, etc is enjoying international exposure like we do? Who is selling Nigeria music to the world like we do?” they argue.

The heavy acceptance of Mimi, one of the tracks off their third album, Meshango, proves that the duo haven’t lost their street credibility and they intend to keep it that way.

“Awards or award we Danfo Driver are the biggest reggae duo in Africa, and also we are not even thinking of changing our Ajegunle pattern of music, rather position it as one of Nigeria most wanted genre of music because it has always enjoy support.”

You would recall that Danfo Driver first hit the limelight with a monster debut album “AM A DANFO DRIVER SUO.” The title track also made history as it featured in a soundtrack for the Hollywood movie, Phat Girlz.

Their sophomore Polongo even recorded a bigger success.

It was a shocking sight yesterday as men of the Kwara State Police Command paraded a goat as an armed robbery suspect.

The goat "suspect" is being detained over an alleged attempt to snatch a Mazda car. The mysterious goat, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tunde Mohammed, while briefing bewildered journalists at the Force headquarters, is an armed robber who attempted to snatch the said car, Wednesday night, and later transformed into the goat in a bid to escape arrest.

He explained that men of a vigilance group in Anifowose Ipata/Oloje areas of the state capital had chased two armed robbery suspects who wanted to demobilise the Mazda car with the intention of stealing it, and

"while one of them escaped, the other was about to be apprehended by the team when he turned his back on the wall and turned to this goat. They quickly grabbed the goat and here it is.’’ Mohammed said.

The police spokesman said the goat "armed robbery suspect" will not be left off the hook until investigations into the case are concluded.

He also said that no fewer than five stolen vehicles have been recovered by the state Police Command while some suspects were also arrested. Among those arrested, he said was one Idowu Oni of Araromi area of Akure who escaped from Akure Prison.

He added that the escaped convict was arrested in Ilorin after stealing a Mazda 323 car belonging to Mrs. Henrietta Ayijesu.

He also said another armed robbery and rape suspect was in their custody, assuring that the suspects will soon appear in court.

Man loses £130,000 in online scam

A 32-year-old man has lost more than £130,000 in an internet scam involving Nigerian fraudsters.

Police said the victim, from Portsmouth, was befriended online by a man posing as a woman in 2007.

He was asked for money to help the "woman's" dying mother and believed he also funded the funeral.

He then got emails from people posing as FBI agents investigating the scam, who duped him into funding trips to Nigeria so they could investigate.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: "It eventually transpired that the woman was in fact a Nigerian man who had been lying to obtain money from the man in Portsmouth."

The spokeswoman said the victim later received further emails from someone else purporting to be another victim of the fraud as well as men who claimed to be FBI agents.

"The agents said they would take on the Portsmouth man's case if he would fund their trip to Nigeria and any subsequent costs they incurred, which the man agreed to," she said.

"This went on for many months before it again transpired that the emails were fraudulent, and in fact another attempt to obtain money from the man.

"The money cannot be recovered due to the current political situation in Nigeria, resulting in a lack of co-operation from the police in the country."

Det Con Jon Knox said: "This is a very sad situation, and this man has now parted with a huge sums of money through his own good nature - in trying to help others and then to recover some of what he had lost.

"We do not want anyone else to fall foul of this kind of shocking activity and I would warn anyone who is asked for money over the internet by people they do not know to refuse and not put yourself at risk."

The latest rumour about Osita Iheme, popularly known as Paw-Paw; is that the actor has been on a suicide watch since his girlfriend, Brenda, dumped him.

Reacting to the gist, Iheme claimed he didn't know any Brenda let alone committing suicide because of her.

“Can you imagine? Who is Brenda? No bi me o. I don't know any Brenda or Belinda. I don't know where the rumour is coming from.”

Rumour had it that Iheme had proposed marriage to one Brenda Gowon, who played along for a while, but later dumped him because of his size.

According to a story , Iheme had decided to kill himself by taking an overdose of sleeping tablets after spending so much money on Belinda whom he was engaged to for two months.

According to the story, Iheme told a close pal that, “The moment I saw her, I felt the earth move under my feet. The air got heavy and I could not breath. It was love before first kiss.”

It was alleged the actor bought a $3000 watch, $700 sunglasses and $1,500 Gucci purse, wrapped the gift items in a gold jewelry case and sent them to Brenda.

However, the actor said that the story on the net was the handiwork of scammers and fraudsters.

“Nothing like that ever happened to me. I have not proposed to any girl. Why would I want to commit suicide? Do you know what it means to commit suicide? Can you do it?”

According to the actor, the rumour does not bother him in any way.

Osita Iheme, Kanayo O. Kanayo besiege Imo govt house for appointment!!!!!

FOLLOWING the recent appointment of actor and ace comedian, McAnthony Onyegbule (Okey Bakassi) into the Chief Ikedi Ohakim-led government and the looming cabinet reshuffle, the Imo State Government House has become a Mecca of sort to movie actors and actresses who under one guise or the other have continued to frequent Government House in search of appointments in the next cabinet shake up . But for the fact, that most of them are known faces, one man have mistaken them for contractors who frequently come to lobby for mobilization or full payment of job done for the government . Trend'tainment gathered that most of them are still clutching their heavily padded resumes about , while others have already sent across their tinkered curriculum vitae to some persons in the Government House believed to have the ear of the Governor.
